Sheffield United are in talks with Manchester United over a move for their exciting attacking midfielder, Facundo Pellistri.

The 21-year-old has been part of Erik ten Hag’s squad this season but is seen as a player at Old Trafford who could benefit from a loan move.

And according to The Telegraph, it is Sheffield United who are looking to get a deal over the line.

The Telegraph claims the Blades have made a move for Pellistri as Paul Heckingbottom looks to desperately add to his attacking options at Bramall Lane.

Pellistri was signed by United for £9m back in 2020 but has so far failed to make much of an impression on the first-team.

However, he does have 12 caps for the Uruguayan national team and could very much welcome the move to play first-team football with the Blades.

It’s claimed United are ready to finalise a deal for Pellistri but must wait for sign off from Ten Hag and Old Trafford before getting things done.

While he’s not quite took off at Old Trafford just yet, Pellistri has played in both games this season and the fact he features for Uruguay as well shows how good he is.

For the Blades, these are the sorts of player that need to come in. The final third is going to be so important and having players who can buzz in and around the central striker, like Pellistri can, could be crucial.

Pellistri is obviously a talent who is ready to explode onto the scene. A loan move to Bramall Lane, then, could be the ideal move for all parties.
