The season might not be anywhere near done for Sheffield United but the rumour mill is already kicking in, with Olympiakos said to be keen on Blades defender, George Baldock.
The 29-year-old is currently out injured after being put back into the starting XI as Jayden Bogle suffered a season-ending injury himself. Baldock, who has another two years left on his contract, is known to have been pushing for Greek nationality in recent years in order to represent the country at international level.
And according to reports in Italy – cited by The Sun – Baldock is now wanted by Greek giants, Olympiakos.

Baldock has made more than 150 appearances for United and has been a key figure in the rise up the leagues and subsequent drop into the Championship. He featured heavily in the Premier League and, this season, scored a goal of the season contender against Swansea City.
Olympiakos’ interest follows on from admiring glances from Celtic last summer. The Scottish giants were said to be keen on landing Baldock, before withdrawing their interest.

Our View: Sheffield United Could Sell George Baldock
In our opinion, Baldock is probably one of the players the Blades could look to offload to bring in some funds and it not have too much impact on the squad.
Sure, Baldock is a good player with vital experience and a will to win. However, with Bogle having ousted him as first choice and Femi Seriki emerging from the youth ranks, United could decide to cash in on Baldock.
At 29, he probably only has a few years left at being at his very, very best. If the Greek giants can come in with a decent enough bid this summer and Bogle does recover well, then this could end up being a deal that works out well for all.
