Sander Berge takes to Instagram and appears fitter than ever

Sander Berge represents one of the biggest conundrums for Sheffield United and new manager, Slavisa Jokanovic, this summer.

The big Norwegian midfielder is expected to leave the club. Arsenal are said to be super keen on Berge, and have already lodged a £17m bid.

United, of course, want double that figure. The Blades are said to be holding out for the release-clause of £35m for Berge before they even consider a sale.

Berge missed a lot of the season with injury. He was just getting into his stride when he picked up a serious knock against Manchester United. He underwent surgery, before returning late in the season, albeit briefly.

Paul Heckingbottom opted to rest Berge for the final few. Instead, the midfielder was sent to focus on rehab. And looking at his latest post on Instagram, that rehab is going more than well!

Berge appears to have taken himself off on a nice little training camp to Spain by the looks of it.

Naturally, Arsenal fans were in the comments. The Gunners seem desperate to land Berge, although they have been linked with Ruben Neves too.

But for Berge and Sheffield United fans, it’s at least nice to see the big midfielder back up and running. He looks sharp, and like a real powerhouse. If United can somehow keep him, then it will be a major boost for next season.

Can Sheffield United keep Sander Berge?

The reality is, probably not. However, with Arsenal looking at Neves and United understood to not be under major pressure to sell, we could well hold onto Berge.

What does work in our favour is the fact he was injured. He needs to prove his fitness, and any club spending £35m will want to know he is ok.

With a bit of luck, the Blades can hold onto Berge at least until January. If he’s playing and playing well and someone wants him in the winter, then we might be powerless to stop it.

But if Sheffield United can get this Instagram version of Sander Berge in the Championship, then the other clubs should be on their toes.
