Despite the Premier League transfer deadline grinding to a halt last night, rumours have continued today it seems when it comes to Sheffield United and David Brooks.

Talk gathered pace on social media in the final week of the transfer window about Brooks potentially returning to Bramall Lane. However, that talk was shot down by The Examiner, who claimed it was not happening.
However, just a day after the window slammed shut and with the EFL window still open, the rumours are continuing to circle, with transfer account The Fourth Official claiming United are in ‘advanced talks’ to re-sign Brooks from Bournemouth.
It certainly seems a strange one to put out the day after the window shut. Furthermore, any move for Brooks would mean United calling off their search for a new defender, as any deal would have to be a loan given the finances at the club.
MORE UNITED STORIES
It seems that this one isn’t going to go away for now and we could well be revisiting this – and saying no – more than once in the next week or two!
It’s just not happenining, is it?
We’ve said before on here that we doubt this will happen and our stance hasn’t changed one bit. It just seems so unfathomable for United to be back in for Brooks.

And it’s not just because of the money involved again. The issue is that Brooks is likely to be one of the most sought-after talents in the Championship now the EFL window is the only route available for most PL teams.
In addition, the likes of Spurs, Man United, and Liverpool have all courted the Welsh international.
All those things together with the fact that it’s been played down by local media suggest that David Brooks to Sheffield United is nothing but a fantasy story at the moment.
