At a time when all things Sheffield United related seem negative, it’s nice this evening to be able to look at something a little bit more light-hearted.
FIFA 22, one of the world’s most popular video games, is one of the go-to titles for many a footballer. Plenty of players across the Premier League and beyond love the game. Indeed, some teams even go as far as to make entire content streams based on player ratings reveals.
For Sheffield United duo John Egan and Rhian Brewster, it was time for them to join in the fun with a bit of FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) top trumps.
Brewster Not Happy
Going through a pack of cards in a light-hearted game of the childhood favourite, Brewster wasn’t best pleased when he got to Jayden Bogle in his deck. The Blades right-back was given 81 pace, higher than Brewster’s 79, and it’s safe to say the United number 7 wasn’t happy!
“By the way, how is Bogz faster than me? How? How is Bogz faster than me in FIFA,” Brewster remarked on Sheffield United’s YouTube channel.
Whether Rhian is actually faster than Bogle, remains up for debate. There’s probably some statistics at Bramall Lane or Shirecliffe to argue the point.
But for now, we’ll just have to make our own judgements using FIFA 22, and in-game sprints from the pair.
Nice to See
Yes, it’s not for everyone, but both FIFA 22 and YouTube content is popular among loads of fans around the world.
More to the point, it’s good to see two Blades players taking a bit of downtime and having some fun. This team needs to rediscover that team spirit and bond of old, and things like this will help.
Does it really matter that Brewster’s sprint speed is lower than Bogles’ in FIFA 22? Probably not. But it’s a bit of banter and nice to see for once.
