Report: West Brom remain keen on Callum Robinson but Blades undecided on sale

Callum Robinson could yet wind up at West Brom this summer, with the Birmingham Mail reporting that the Baggies to remain interested in the Sheffield United man.

Robinson, who only signed for the Blades last summer, joined West Brom on loan in January and helped them win promotion back to the Premier League.

Despite not being a regular goalscorer for either club, it is believed that Robinson impressed Slaven Bilic and the Croatian boss is considering whether to make a move to sign the former Preston star on a permanent basis.

The Blades paid around £8m (BBC) for Robinson last summer. United, then, will expect to recoup most of – if not all – that money if they do decide to sell.

However, Chris Wilder hasn’t quite made his mind up yet over the Republic of Ireland striker. Last month, the Blades boss admitted ‘a decision may need to be made’ on the future of the forward. But, he refused to delve any deeper, as we reported here.

Robinson is fine but it’s not the end of the world if he goes – Our View

There’s a player in there with Callum Robinson, 100%. However, he hasn’t shown quite enough to suggest he is going to be anything but an average attacking player for the Blades.

Chris Wilder knew what he was doing when he shipped him out on loan in January. The signs, then, are already there that the Blades boss feels we can improve in that area of the field.

If United can get their money back on Robinson then it’s a case of no harm done. Sometimes signings don’t work out well for whatever reason and if this is the case with Robinson, he’ll still leave with most Blades fans’ best wishes.
