Sheffield United youngster, Daniel Jebbison, is weighing up his options as he faces up to the prospect of a loan move away from Bramall Lane.
The young striker is reportedly at the Stadium of Light this evening watching Sunderland play Hull City. Jebbison has been linked with a move to the Black Cats, and is thought to be considering a switch to the northeast.
However, the Sunderland Echo claims that no deal is imminent between the club and Jebbison. They claim that the race for Jebbison is hotting up, and the Black Cats face ‘significant competition’ for his signature.
Jebbison burst onto the scene with the Blades last season, scoring on his full debut against Everton. He then played a part in the final few games of the season, causing a buzz of excitement around The Lane.
But with so many strikers on the books, United boss Slavisa Jokanovic must decided who to keep and who to move on. And with Jebbison being so young, he could be allowed out on loan.
The right move
Of all the United youngsters potentially moving out on loan this summer, getting the right club for Jebbison is key.
He is already ready for first-team action. Therefore, it needs a club who is going to put their faith in him, and start him in games regularly.
Sunderland would be a good option. It’s a big club, with a big fanbase, and expectation is on them again next year to win promotion. But, other clubs will be keen as well, and it won’t be a surprise to see some Championship sides in the mix either.
For Jebbison, it simply needs to be the right deal. He is only young, but you get the impression this loan is with a view to him becoming a regular for United afterwards. It’s vital, then, that we get it right.
