Sheffield United are keeping an eye on West Brom winger, Oliver Burke, as Chris Wilder continues to look to reshape his squad ahead of the new season.

All PostsAccording to The Sun (print edition, 22/08, p64), the Blades are said to be interested in Burke, who has struggled to hit the heights many expected he would since leaving Nottingham Forest.

Since then, however, Burke has struggled to find regular football. His spell with West Brom hasn’t been great, while a loan to Celtic didn’t go brilliantly. He did play over 30 times for Alaves last season, though, so may well be itching to give the English game another crack.

Burke has won 11 caps for Scotland so far. At just 23, he very much has his career ahead of him and he could well be just the sort of player Chris Wilder make a move for.

Something different but a risky signing nonetheless – Our View

There is no doubt that Oli Burke is a talented player. The youngster we saw breakthrough at Forest was quick, powerful, and dynamic. The sort of player who got fans on the edge of their seats.

Of course, since then, things haven’t quite worked out as Burke might have hoped. But, after a season in Spain, he might be ready to go again if given the chance.

Wilder loves a bit of a risky signing and there won’t be much to lose on Burke really in the grand scheme. Furthermore, we might even see a swap deal involving Callum Robinson.

It’s certainly an interesting one to keep an eye on for us Blades fans.
