Sheffield United are thought to be closer than ever to agreeing a deal to bring in Brighton winger, Reda Khadra, for at least the rest of the season.
The Blades are looking for a replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White and see Khadra – who impressed against them twice for Blackburn last year – as the ideal signing. And according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon this weekend, United are indeed confident of getting a deal over the line for Khadra.
Nixon wrote on his Patreon how United think they can get a deal over the line for Khadra to join on loan, with a fixed fee in place for the Blades to buy him as well. Of course, how that might work out when his contract expires next summer anyway, remains to be seen.

Further, The Sheffield Star has added today how it’s unknown whether or not Brighton have an automatic right to extend that contract, should they wish to do so.
Khadra was one of Blackburn’s star players last season along with Ben Brereton-Diaz. Described by Tony Mowbray as a player who is ‘so fast, powerful, and has a rocket in his right foot’, Khadra would certainly fill the void left by Gibbs-White at Bramall Lane.

And that’s without even mentioning Rhian Brewster, Sander Berge, or any of the other forwards in this team.
United are going about things in the right way this summer. The club are looking to fill positions that caused problems last year, as well as filling those – like this one – where Gibbs-White has left a hole.
Khadra would be a superb piece of business for United. He was quality for Rovers and against United looked the best player on the pitch both times. If the board and Hecky get this one over the line, then Blades fans can have little to grumble about this summer.
