According to a report from the Sun, Sheffield United want to sign Huddersfield Town midfielder, Lewis O’Brien.
The print edition of the paper (page 59, 16/08), claims that the Blades are looking to challenge Burnley to sign the young midfielder, who made 38 appearances last term.

O’Brien shot into the limelight with Huddersfield last season after impressing the year before during a loan spell with Bradford City, where he also played nearly every minute.
Described by The Sun as a ‘midfield dynamo’, O’Brien would bring another option to the middle of the park for Chris Wilder, while at 21, he is at the ideal age to improve and progress under the guidance of the Blades boss.

It is claimed a bid in the region of £7m is being readied by the Clarets, who will be in similar markets to the Blades this summer given their budget and Premier League standing.
Another day, another midfielder linked
We get the impression that this is going to be a recurring theme until the club actually announce the signing of someone in the coming weeks.
Glen Kamara, John Swift, Matty Longstaff, and now O’Brien. We aren’t going to be signing all four so we will just have to wait and see what Wilder pulls out of the bag.

In terms of Lewis O’Brien, he is very much in the ‘Wilder mould’. Tough-tackling, strong, and athletic, on paper, he looks the sort of player who would flourish at Bramall Lane.
Time will tell though, as we all sit and wait to see just who the Blades will bring in over the course of the summer.
