It’s not too often you get to mention Sheffield United and Real Madrid in the same article, but today is one of those rare occasions that football throws at us.
That’s because according to reports in Spain, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen on signing United starlet, Daniel Jebbison. Defensa Central make the claim, suggesting Madrid have been keeping tabs on the forward’s progress with Burton this season.
Jebbison’s progress with Burton has hardly been earth shattering. He’s managed just the three goals, with just one coming in League One. But that hasn’t stopped Europe’s elite taking note of the young Blade.
Scouted
Defensa Central claim that Madrid are keen. Their manager, Carlo Ancelotti, was an admirer of Jebbison while with Everton. Indeed, United even turned down a bid from the Toffees in the summer. These latest reports follow claims just last week that both Dortmund and Barcelona are watching Jebbison as well.

The teenager burst onto the United scene last season. Despite a miserable campaign for the club, Jebbison netted on his full debut at Goodison Park and enjoyed four good performances.
However, Slavisa Jokanovic opted to send him to good friend, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink this term. The new Blades boss firmly believing ‘Jebbo’ would benefit from a spell away.
Asset
Just like fellow young forward, Iliman Ndiaye, much is expected of Daniel Jebbison at Sheffield United. Of course, he’s a young man who’s honing and learning his craft. But his instant impact last term has meant supporters have high hopes.
He’s yet to really take off at Burton. But, there is plenty of time left in the season for that to turnaround.
The good thing for Sheffield United is that we have another player who is an asset either way. Whether that be in terms of being a future starting striker, or someone we can cash in on.
Put it this way, if the likes of Real Madrid are watching, then Daniel Jebbison must be doing something right.
