Premier League champions, Manchester City, could make a move for reported Sheffield United target, Joe Rodon.
The Swansea man was strongly linked with a move to Bramall Lane prior to the January window opening. However, Chris Wilder opted against making his move, bringing in five other signings instead.

And it appears that if the Blades wan to reignite their interest in Rodon, they face hefty competition. The Daily Mail reports that Pep Guardiola is a fan of Rodon and could well make his move in the summer.
City are desperate for some reinforcements in defence. After losing Aymeric Laporte through injury, Guardiola has watched on as Liverpool have pulled further and further away in the race for the title.

The 22-year-old is a friend of current Blades striker, Oli McBurnie. However, Rodon would surely be hard-pushed to turn down a move to the Etihad.
Rodon, as we covered previously, can play across the back-line if needed. Comfortable in possession, he’s already won two caps for the full Welsh national team.
Despite the Blades spending big in January, they would struggle to compete with City. Indeed, it was believed in January that Swansea may demand up to £20m for their prized defensive asset.
Competing with the big boys
Joe Rodon is someone who would slot into the Sheffield United team with ease. He fits the mould, too, of the type of player Chris Wilder has targeted of late. Young, hungry, and with a desire to improve.

However, if Man City do come knocking then put simply, United don’t stand a chance. That’s not to say that the club remains interested in Rodon.
The January window was hugely successful for Wilder and the club in general. While Rodon might have previously been a target, the winter additions could well have changed things in that respect.
Furthermore, of Panos Retsos does well, there’s every chance he becomes a full-time Blades in the summer.
