Sheffield United boss, Slavisa Jokanovic, is ready to give former Derby defender Jayden Bogle his chance in the first-team, if George Baldock is out for a prolonged period.
Baldock left the game with Bournemouth injured. It is believed to be a hamstring problem, although there is no indication of the severity of the injury just yet. Chris Basham replaced him at the weekend, with Bogle left out by Jokanovic once again.
However, the United boss could now be ready to turn to Bogle, if Baldock faces time on the sidelines. That’s according to the Sheffield Star, who claim Bogle has been placed on stand-by to step in for Baldock if needed.
Opportunity
Bogle, 21, who signed for United as part of a £15m double deal with Max Lowe under Chris Wilder, has shown flashes of brilliance in red and white. But Baldock’s consistency and defensive qualities have ensured the young full-back has spent time on the bench.

When he has played, Bogle has looked particularly good going forward. He’s scored goals at Brighton and at home to West Brom, as well as in the cup at Bristol Rovers.
Jokanovic has admitted recently that it has hurt him to leave Bogle out. It’s not surprising, either. The right-back is a talent, and was courted by Norwich City this summer.
Our View: Jayden Bogle has to shine if given chance
An injury to Baldock was only ever going to be Bogle’s chance of getting into the first XI and he now has it. In a nutshell, he simply has to seize the moment.
There is little doubt he can, too. Sure, concerns will come about his defensive play. But he’s played at Championship level before and played it well. He’s no longer coming up against Premier League wingers, so he might just get that bit more leeway.
Going forward, he can bring so much as well. We’ve all seen it already so it’s now a chance for Bogle to show Jokanovic exactly what he can do.
