Reported Sheffield United target, Ben Davies, is said to have doubts over a move to Bramall Lane despite the club’s long-term interest.
The Blades are keen on landing Davies from Preston either in January or the summer, after Chris Wilder identified him as a player he’d like at the end of the last transfer window.
The Daily Mail now claims that Davies has reservations over making any move to Sheffield, with the likes of Celtic and Bournemouth also sniffing around, while Genk are said to be keen as well.
Davies, 25, is free to leave North End in the summer but Preston could decide to cash in now by selling at a reduced fee, something which may appeal to the Blades in using part of their summer budget for next season anyway.
But United’s form, plus the interest from the likes of Celtic, is said to be putting Davies off.
Move on, we don’t want someone who doesn’t want to be here
There’s already talks on social media about some players kicking up a stink behind the scenes and we’ve had the John Lundstram saga all season, so the last thing we want is someone who’s had to be convinced to join.
If Davies doesn’t fancy the move then simply move on to other targets.
We need a squad that’s going to be together to try and push us back towards promotion next season. As sad as it is, this campaign is a write-off unfortunately so eyes must be fixed on what’s best for next year.
Signing players who aren’t sure, is not the path we need to follow!
