Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has admitted Nathan Redmond will miss this weekend’s match at Sheffield United.
Redmond has not played for the Saints since hobbling off during their 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Fulham.
The winger was not involved in their final game before the international break – a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United. Despite having not featured since August 27, Redmond is still not yet fully fit.
“Everybody is back from their international games without injuries, so that’s good news,” Hasenhuttl told the the club’s website.
“The bad news is that Nathan is still not available, but he is making progress.”
Redmond out, but there is better news for Southampton

MORE UNITED STORIES
While Redmond is unavailable, the Austrian does have better hopes for three others. Moussa Djenepo and Michael Obafemi also missed the stalemate with Man United with injuries.
Meanwhile, Ryan Bertrand hasn’t played since the the 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool on August 17 with an ankle problem. With Kevin Danso suspended after being sent off in their last match, Hasenhuttl could do with his left-back returning.
“With Moussa it looks better; we aren’t sure whether it is enough to play this weekend. We’ll have to look,” the 52-year-old continued.
“The chances are not that big, but let’s see. I don’t want to take too much risk because it’s a very busy September.
“Michael is in training sessions as well as Ryan. They are both options. It has been good to regroup over the break, we’re looking forward.”
The Blades welcome their opponents to Bramall Lane looking to build on their comeback and point at Chelsea last time out. However, their last Premier League match at home did end in defeat to Leicester City.
They sit one point and three places above the Saints, who have recovered from successive opening defeats to beat Brighton and Hove Albion and then hold the Red Devils.
