Former Blade Ravel Morrison has been in the news this week after speaking to Rio Ferdinand in an open and honest podcast.
Morrison, 28, arrived at Bramall Lane following United’s promotion to the Premier League in 2019. However, despite Chris Wilder admitting he’d been pleased with what he saw from Ravel, United’s form meant Morrison never quite got the minutes he’d have liked.
And speaking to Ferdinand this week, Morrison says he has no complaints about his lack of game time, conceding the form and quality of certain players hindered his chances.
“Chris is a top manager. All the players have respect for him, ‘cos he treats everyone the same,” Morrison said.
“I wasn’t getting much game time cos Sheffield were flying. They had great results and also have good players. Flecky, Fleck is unbelievable. Lunny in midfield, and then David McGoldrick. It was frustrating but with the results they were getting, you can’t really complain,” he added.
Morrison is currently without a club after seeing a spell in Holland with ADO Den Haag come to an end.
However, still just 28, time is on his side if he wishes to give football one last push and prove to everyone just how good he can be.
Such a shame for Ravel Morrison but Sheffield United have his respect
Everyone wanted Ravel to do well for United but as he says, results and performances dictated that he never quite got the chance to shine.
It’s interesting listening to him speak to Ferdinand. In the podcast he admits he’d change much of his life if he could, admitting he regrets a fair few things over the course of his life and career.
Hopefully, Ravel can get one more move and show everyone what a good player he is. We were big advocates of him on this site, and wish him nothing but the best going forward.
