In a surprising late transfer rumour yesterday, Scottish champions, Rangers, are apparently interested in signing Oli McBurnie.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who suggest Rangers are eyeing McBurnie as they seek to bolster their attacking ranks.
The Mail claims United will ask for around £15m for McBurnie. That fee makes sense, given it’s what the Blades apparently quoted Wolves a few months back when their interest surfaced.

McBurnie is a well known fan of the Glasgow giants. Anyone who follows his social media profiles will have seen his love and affection for Rangers.
It could, then, prove to be an enticing situation for McBurnie. Of course, an offer would need to come that is to United’s liking. Further, the big striker is also injured at the moment, so would need to prove his fitness.

But away from a straight cash deal, could it also prove an opportunity for United to land a previous target in Rangers midfielder, Glen Kamara?
Sheffield United should look at Kamara in exchange for McBurnie
Aside from the fact that United need midfielders this summer, Glen Kamara is not just a name plucked out of thin air. Far from it, in fact.
Kamara has been linked with a move to Bramall Lane for over a year now and was said to be a £10m target for Chris Wilder last summer. The Finland star stayed put in the end, and helped Rangers to the Scottish title as they enjoyed a superb season under Gerrard.

However, if Rangers are serious about signing McBurnie then it’s certainly worth the question from the United end. Kamara is an exceptional talent, and might see a move to England as a good step.
Obviously, United’s drop into the Championship hinders us a bit. But as the old saying goes, ‘if you don’t ask, you don’t get’.
United, then, could do far worse than look to take Kamara off Rangers’ hands in exchange for Oli McBurnie here.
