The Blades travel to Chelsea this weekend looking for their first win of the season at Stamford Bridge.
Last season’s trip to London kickstarted United’s campaign in terms of belonging in the Premier League. A second-half fight-back rescued a 2-2 draw in front of a raucous away following from the Blades fans.
Chris Wilder’s men will have been boosted by the news that Kai Havertz is set to miss the game. The German has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now following self-isolation protocols.
For Chelsea and manager Frank Lampard, Havertz being missing gives him a selection headache. However, it’s hard to feel sorry for the Blues boss given the embarrassment of riches has at his disposal in attacking areas.
A win against Rennes in midweek with Havertz will have given Lampard a blueprint. But the former England midfielder may choose to rotate. Although Christian Pulisic could miss out again, the likes of Hudson-Odoi and Mateo Kovacic both pushing for starts.
With that, then, and without their big summer signing, here’s how we think Chelsea will line up on Saturday.
