Sheffield United are reportedly on the hunt for new strikers and the name of Arsenal youngster, Folarin Balogun, is the latest to hit the headlines.
The Daily Mail claimed yesterday that United had lodged a £3m bid for the teenager. It was a bid, however, that was flatly rejected by the Gunners, with the report stating they want closer to the £15m mark.
Chris Wilder has confirmed today that the Blades have indeed asked about Balogun, telling the press before tomorrow’s League Cup game that he has ‘made an enquiry for the young boy at Arsenal’.
And it appears Wilder may be getting a top prospect if he can land the youngster, with Arsenal goalscorer and club captain once branding the teenager ‘fire’ following his goalscoring exploits.
As reported in the Daily Cannon a couple of seasons back., Aubameyang took time out to praise the youngster, who had, at that point, scored 22 goals for the Gunners’ under-18s.
This young boy is 🔥 💪🏽

Clearly, then, Balogun is quite the talent and despite not quite making an impression on the first XI as yet, he has clearly caught the eye of Aubameyang, who recently signed a new deal with the club.
A top talent, this could be a coup if we pull it off – Our View
We aren’t use to, as United fans, seeing the club going out and snatching top young talent up. It’s normally us who are the sellers, as David Brooks, Kyle Walker, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all prove.
However, we are a PL club now and one looking to build for the future and it’s clear that Chris Wilder has his eyes on a number of top young players in the top-flight.
Along with Rhian Brewster, Balogun would bring pace, freshness, and goals to Bramall Lane.
And at the end of the day, if you’re getting praise off someone at the level of Aubameyang, then you’re doing something right, aren’t you?
