Sheffield United take on Luton tomorrow and Paul Merson has predicted yet more misery for Chris Wilder’s men.

United go into the game as underdogs having been beaten by Luton over Christmas and then being hammered by Aston Villa in the last game.

That game with Villa felt a big low in what has already been a season of lows for the Blades.

But predicting the game at Kenilworth Road tomorrow for Sportskeeda, Paul Merson has predicted yet more bad news for United.

Paul Merson predicts Sheffield United v Luton

Giving his reasons behind what he thinks will be a 2-0 win for Luton, Merson has said that the Blades are simply not good enough.

“Luton have been very good at home this season, but this is probably the first time their fans will turn up and expect them to win a game of football. If they do get a win, they go within a point of Crystal Palace and could bring so many teams into the equation in terms of the relegation battle,” Merson said.

“Everybody in the country expects them to win this game. Granted, Sheffield United are simply not good enough, but that is a different kind of pressure. Luton need to score early to breathe a lot easier and I think they will get the job done in front of their fans.”

Chris Wilder will be hoping the use the fact pundits and even the club’s own fans are writing his team off as a reason to make a big push.

The Blades are often at their best when their backs are against the wall and a win at Luton would somehow feel massive in the context of the season.

It will not be easy, though, and with Rob Edwards’ side flying at the moment, any sort of result would be a bonus for United.
