Paul Heckingbottom has been speaking about Tottenham in his press conference today and touched on the quality of Harry Kane.
The England skipper could be in line to start at Bramall Lane on Wednesday. Kane recently became Spurs’ leading goal scorer and has been in fine form all season. Kane bagged again at the weekend against Chelsea. And against a Championship defence, he’ll more than fancy his chances of another goal.
Of course, United manager Heckingbottom is well aware of Kane’s quality. But speaking on the England star today, Heckingbottom acknowledged Kane’s class, but said United must be cautious not to over-play him.
“He’s one of the best in the world and if we put two men on him, we’re leaving another top-class player with no-one. In terms of the test they pose, everyone knows how they play,” Heckingbottom said.

“They have a clear set up, in attack and how they defend. The bit that is the hardest to deal with is the calibre of player. We know what we’re going to face but it’s about stopping some of the best players in the world.”
MORE UNITED STORIES
The Blades actually beat Tottenham last time out in front of an empty Bramall Lane after Covid. In the cup, the last time was a memorable 2-2 draw in which Christian Eriksen and Che Adams both netted memorable braces.
Sheffield United News View: Kane could produce a masterclass
Harry Kane has put better teams than Sheffield United to bed with his class so there’s no shame if he does that this week.
For the Blades, it will be about keeping in the game as long as possible. We all know Kane is a massive threat but Heckingbottom is bang on, they have quality everywhere.
Bramall Lane will be key and a good atmosphere will play its part as well. Normally, John Egan would be relishing the clash with Kane but his suspension gives someone else a chance. Anel Ahmedhodzic or Ciaran Clark are likely to step into the fold instead.
