The bad news for Sheffield United just continued to roll in after today’s hammering against Brighton as Chris Wilder confirmed to more major injury blows.
The Blades are already suffering with knocks and long-term problems and it doesn’t look like things are easing any either.
United went into the game today with Yasser Larouci as the left wing-back, as both Max Lowe and Rhys Norrington-Davies were ruled out.

And speaking about the left-sided duo after the game, Wilder has confirmed that both players are now out for the season.
“Out for the season. Surgery on a blocked – I don’t know if you remember it last week – Andros Townsend come back on his left peg and smashed a cross and Max stuck his leg out to block it and he’s done all his ankle ligaments. Rhys is out for the season with his hamstring issue as well, so yeah, they’re big blows. It’s tough. Tough to be involved. Tough to be a Sheffield United supporter, I completely get it,” Wilder said.
Injury issues sum up the season
Something is not right at this football club when it comes to injuries and managing those injuries. It’s been here since Paul Heckingbottom was in charge and it seems to be carrying over into the new Wilder era.
Of course, some things are simply bad luck like the injury to Lowe here. But some things can surely be managed a touch better.
Wilder confirmed Cameron Archer had pulled up with a tight calf as well which is yet another muscle injury to the add to the pile.
It must be infuriating for Wilder to deal with and as if the job wasn’t hard enough with the players we have, we’re having to battle on with some of our better players missing as well.
This season has been a complete mess and the sooner it’s done, the better.
