'The big one for me': Jack O'Connell says Bogle and McBurnie two big positives from Birmingham draw

Jack O’Connell was in the studio this weekend to watch Sheffield United take on Birmingham City and he believes there’s reason to be positive.

The defender is still out with an injury and will have missed two years of action now. It remains to be seen whether or not O’Connell will return to the fold at any point but for now, it’s nice for Blades fans to see him getting involved.

And speaking about the Blades’ 1-1 draw with Birmingham at the weekend, O’Connell believes that while United didn’t deserve to win, there were some positives to take from the game.

“I think there was still some positives to take from the game. Like Ollie scored to continue his form and I think the big one for me is Jayden Bogle coming back. I think that’s a massive positive for me,” O’Connell said on SUTV.

Whether or not Bogle will play against QPR on Tuesday remains to be seen. George Baldock has been playing well on the right but with Bogle coming on down the left, he could get the nod. However, Carl Asaba believes Heckingbottom will be mindful of Bogle’s injury, adding:

“I’m not so sure. I think the manager will be wary of him coming back from so long out. Your other muscles aren’t as strong so we’ll see,” Asaba added.

Our View: Bogle Needs Time To Come Back

It was a huge bonus to see Bogle ‘back on the grass’ as Heckingbottom likes to say. But it would be a bold move to throw him straight into things this week.

With so many games coming up, Bogle will get his chance but it could be just a touch too soon for him against the R’s.

The next few weeks are massive for United and hopefully, Bogle is one of a number of players to be making their way back to fitness before the season breaks in November.
