Marseille could move onto £14m Senegal forward after Blades Ndiaye stance revealed

Sheffield United have apparently made their stance clear on Iliman Ndiaye, amid continued interest from French giants, Marseille.

Marseille’s continued pursuit of Ndiaye has dominated headlines in recent weeks. However, the Senegal forward remains at Bramall Lane and got himself on the scoresheet again yesterday as United beat Derby 3-1.

And after The Sun reported that United have demanded around £30m to even consider selling Ndiaye, Marseille could now move on to another Sheffield United target instead.

The Sun claims that the French side are considering a move for Strasbourg forward Habib Diallo now instead.

Of course, Diallo is a player who has been linked with United as well and the report this weekend does indeed mention Diallo as being a player the Blades would go for if Ndiaye is to leave.

The Blades have put a new contract offer in front of Ndiaye and his agents. At the moment, nothing is signed, with issues around a release-clause said to be holding things up.

The vibe from Ndiaye himself is that he’d be happy to sign. Indeed, reports from the camp in Portugal suggested the same and recently, Carl Asaba suggested that he’d also heard Ndiaye was happy to stay in S2.

The more this goes on, and the more it becomes apparent that the French side haven’t even been in touch with United, the more it seems this is agents trying to build pressure.

The fact apparent ‘middle men’ had told Marseille that Ndiaye could leave for just £11m just says it all really.

Keeping Ndiaye is United’s number one priority. And if that means Marseille go out and get Habib Diallo, then so be it.
