Sheffield United look like they won’t be signing Bayern Munich’s Malik Tillman after the midfielder decided to join PSV Eindhoven.

The Blades had apparently identified Tillman as the ideal player for replacing Iliman Ndiaye with. The Bayern Munich man spent last season with Rangers, where he impressed.

However, despite United’s interest, it looks like Tillman has instead decided to join PSV and play European football.

That’s according to German journalist Kerry Hau anyway. The Sport1 journo has taken to his X account to state Tillman has decided on PSV and that a deal is now close.

The Blades are working hard to try and replace key man Ndiaye after selling him to Marseille.

United have landed around £20m for the Senegalese star and will now look to replace him as best they can.

So far, Paul Heckingbottom has spent some of the money on defender Auston Trusty. However, it’s clear attacking reinforcements are needed.

However, it looks like Tillman has slipped the net as European giants beat United to the punch.

Sheffield United News View: Just the market we are in

If we are shopping for players who play for Bayern Munich then we either need to be really ahead of the game or drop on with a bit of luck.

With this, it seems like we’ve done a bit of background work and wanted to land Tillman but at the end of the day, PSV are a big club with huge lure.

Hau is normally spot on when it comes to news from Bayern as well. It looks like, then, that United have missed out here.
