Sheffield United are currently desperate to bring in a new striker, with one of the key reasons being that Lys Mousset is out injured for a number of weeks.
The Frenchman suffered a foot injury in pre-season and has yet to feature this season for the Blades. Indeed, Chris Wilder has confirmed Mousset faces a period on the sidelines, with no return date issued as yet.

So it goes without saying, then, that a bizarre rumour to emerge on social media in the last few days seems to be one of the most unlikely transfer stories we have seen in the last few weeks.
Twitter account, Mercato en Francais, claimed Mousset could be on his way to Bordeaux and with that, for a paltry fee of around £3m.

Mousset only arrived at Bramall Lane last summer for around £10m and scored six times last term to finish as joint top scorer for the Blades.
A deal to send Mousset back to France, then, seems borderline ludicrous.
Surely there is no chance in this, in fact, we’re 99% sure there isn’t
Of all the rumours and links you hear over the summer, this has to be one of the most bizarre we’ve come across when it comes to United.

It simply does not make sense for Wilder to allow Mousset to move on. On his day, he’s arguably our best striker and without a new player confirmed in that position at the time of writing, there’s no chance Moose goes.
This is the sort of thing we’d normally ignore but, given just how ridiculous it seems, we felt it relevant to have our say. (We now hope Chris Wilder backs our thoughts in his next presser!)
