Danny Murphy has urged Leeds United to sign Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp.
The Match Of The Day pundit thinks that a return to Elland Road for Sharp could help finally get Leeds promoted to the Premier League.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the Championship club are desperate to land a new striker before the January transfer window closes.
RB Leipzig forward Jean-Kevin Augustin, currently on loan at Monaco, has been linked after a third bid for top target, Che Adams, was rejected by Southampton.
There has been talk of Sharp rejoining the Whites, for whom he played for during the 2014/15 season.

“He’s been told he can go in this January transfer window,” said MOTD presenter Gabby Logan. “Midweek in the game against Manchester City he went off and it looked like he was saying goodbye.
“The club have said it’s up to him. The club just up the M1 there, Leeds United, they would happily welcome him back there wouldn’t they?”
Murphy responded: “He could be the difference in getting a club up from the Championship. He wouldn’t have to move house, which is important for players, and he was there many years ago.
“Go and get him Leeds. Give him a call.”

Blades manager, Chris Wilder, admits that the club have received enquiries for Sharp this month. It should perhaps be unsurprising, as the 33-year-old is no longer first choice at Bramall Lane.
Sharp’s start in last week’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City was only his second in the top flight this term. Although for Logan to claim the skipper “looked like he was saying goodbye” when he was substituted in the 59th minute seems a leap of imagination.
Sharp also hasn’t exactly been told he can leave in January. Instead, Wilder says it is a special case where the attacker can effectively choose whether he wants to stay or not. This is because of the great service Sharp has given the club.
