Leeds United and Aston Villa are among the teams keen on signing Sheffield United loan star, James McAtee, this summer.
McAtee has had a wonderful season at Bramall Lane. As well as becoming a regular in the last few months, the Manchester City starlet picked up the club’s Young Player of the Year award this weekend.
And according to the Daily Mail, McAtee’s form has alerted a number of Premier League clubs.
Clubs want to sign James McAtee
The Mail reports that as well United, the likes of Leeds, Villa, Brentford, and Brighton are all keen on taking McAtee on a loan deal next season.
Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
McAtee is due to get a new contract from Manchester City as well. Pep Guardiola has been impressed with the young midfielder and is keen to keep on City’s books for now.
Of course, a loan move could still happen over the summer. City will likely delve into the transfer market and given their squad depth already, McAtee could find minutes hard to come by.
Lauded as being ‘fantastic‘ by Jack Robinson, McAtee has enjoyed a resurgence under Paul Heckingbottom ever since struggling in the away fixture at Luton Town.
Sheffield United News View: Blades need to make their feelings known
Yet another loan player who has won the hearts of United fans, James McAtee has been excellent at Bramall Lane.
It goes without saying that Paul Heckingbottom would like to take McAtee back. But the problem here is that these other clubs will always come knocking and tempting him with offers.
Leeds and Villa are serious clubs. Of course, Leeds could go down, which means McAtee might just ignore their interest completely.
For the Blades, it’s a case of making it known that we’d want him back. He would star again in the Premier League for us and with a season behind him now, would only get better.
In terms of summer signings, both McAtee and fellow midfielder Tommy Doyle feel like key additions for United.
