Sheffield United and manager Chris Wilder are still in the dark over whether they’ll have to face Diogo Jota this weekend.
The Portuguese winger is back in training with the Reds. He’s been missing since just before Christmas, when he injured himself in a European tie that he didn’t really need to be involved in.
However, Jota is now back training and will be hoping for a place in the squad as Jurgen Klopp brings his Reds side to Bramall Lane. But Klopp, speaking ahead of the clash, was still unclear on if he will indeed include Jota in his squad.
Per The Athletic’s respected Liverpool journalist, James Pearce, Klopp was coy over Jota’s inclusion, while he also added an update on Fabinho and James Milner.
Jota scored against the Blades as Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners at Anfield earlier in the season. His presence will be a huge boost to the Reds, while for United, it could be the stuff of nightmares given their injury problems.
Jota being back is just what Sheffield United need…not!
I feel like every other club seems to be getting the rub of the green with things barring United this season, and that’s not just sour grapes.
Sure, Liverpool have their own injury problems and Jordan Henderson is missing. But having Jota back is a huge bonus, as is having Fabinho back in and around the first-team.
United need as much help as we can get. Seeing someone like Jota in the squad, is simply another kick to the nether regions for Wilder and Blades fans.
