Sheffield United are looking to ramp up their transfer business ahead of next week’s Premier League kick off.
The Blades are expected to complete the signing of Arsenal defender Auston Trusty in the coming days. A deal worth around £5m has been agreed and Trusty has already had a medical at Shirecliffe.
Trusty will be United’s fourth summer signing. The Blades have signed Benie Traore, Anis Slimane and Yasser Larouci so far. However, with Iliman Ndiaye being sold this week, Paul Heckingbottom is expected to push for at least four more players.
One name to be linked with a move to Bramall Lane is Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Having been released by Arsenal, Maitland-Niles is looking for a new club.

However, according to journalist Alan Nixon, any Blades move for Maitland-Niles looks unlikely.
Nixon, replying to fans on Twitter about United’s transfer business, issued a short and sharp response when asked if Maitland-Niles would be coming to Bramall Lane.
The Sun journalist responded to a fan asking for news on Maitland-Niles to United by simply saying ‘won’t be any’.
The Blades and Luton are believed to be among a cluster of teams keen on the 25-year-old.
Sheffield United News View: Move on if he doesn’t fancy it
While Maitland-Niles has a bit of experience behind him and fills a lot of positions, he’s not someone United should be waiting around for.
If he doesn’t want to sign and like Nixon hints at here, there isn’t actually much in the links, then United need to move on.
Maitland-Niles would help with the squad, of course. But if he has other offers and isn’t immediately drawn to the Blades, then this could be one we just move on from quickly.
