Former Leeds United and England goalkeeper, Paul Robinson, has said that John Lundstram needs to be tread carefully over his next move.
Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson warned Lundstram that he needs to ‘play things carefully’ as he continues to run his contract down.
Robinson’s warning comes amid reports that Rangers will not be signing Lundstam. The midfielder apparently has no intention of moving to the Gers, leaving his future up in the air somewhat.

‘Lunny’ has admitted that the offer from the Blades remains on the table, refusing to admit he will actually leave in the summer. And Robinson believes it’s a risky move by the United man to play the waiting game.
“A lot of players in his position will already know the club they are joining next season, speaking from experience and to other players,” Robinson remarked.

“If he is still trying to impress clubs at this stage he is running the risk of losing form, being dropped from the team or suffering an injury.
“I am surprised that the Rangers one has not materialised, I thought it was going to come to fruition. He would a great signing for Rangers given the way Steven plays. Lundstram needs to play things very carefully.”
Lundstram may well leave, but Robinson makes a good point here
The most annoying thing about this whole situation with John Lundstram is in the last few weeks we have seen how importan the is to the team.
His energy and performance levels in the middle of the park have been excellent, and certainly a marked improvement on the opening half of the season.
But Robinson makes a good point here. What if Lundstram did get a knock? Would he then decide to simply sign his deal? That wouldn’t go down with a lot of United fans, I can assure you.
Most Blades want Lundstram to stay. However, he must have something lined up if the move isn’t Rangers and he’s still yet to put pen to paper on his Blades deal.
