Ex-Liverpool and England defender, Jamie Carragher, has labelled Sheffield United as ‘outstanding’ in his latest Sky Sports analysis.

Carragher was speaking alongside Wolves defender, Conor Coady, last night. Analysing the Blades’ playing style, the former Liverpool pair were suitably impressed with what they were seeing.
Coady played against United a few weeks ago. But it was Carragher’s comments that highlighted just how impressive Chris Wilder’s men have been.
“The reason the Blades do their system so differently, is they expose the opposition in wide areas. This is normally where you’d expect them to be weak”, Carragher said (Sky Sports).
As Carragher continued to analyse the wide areas, Coady pointed out the “intelligence” of Ollie Norwood. The Wolves man insisting that there is so much more to the system than meets the eye.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Outstanding
The Blades’ 3-5-2 system has gradually garnered praise this term. Indeed, Carragher admitted he hadn’t seen anything like it before.
“I think what they are doing is outstanding“, he added.
“It’s completely different to anything I’ve ever seen from a team playing three at the back”.

Sheffield United travel to Brighton this weekend looking to extend their unbeaten away record. However, Graham Potter is the only manager to beat Chris Wilder in 2019 with the Blades on their travels.
Wilder, then, will be looking to finally get the better of the Seagulls gaffer.
Carragher shows how to do the job properly
In a week where Garth Crooks once again made controversial comments, it’s so nice to see someone analysing the Blades properly.
Jamies Carragher knows a good team when he sees on. Conor Coady, too, was clearly impressed with what he’d seen a few weeks prior. It’s great to see it finally hit home amongst the best pundits around.
Sheffield United deserve to be called outstanding by Carragher. If the Blades can pick up another win this weekend, then the superlatives will, no doubt, keep on coming.
