Sheffield United might have lost to Coventry City last night Jack O’Connell believes Iliman Ndiaye was the best player on the entire pitch.
Ndiaye was a constant menace for the Sky Blues’ defence and he was unlucky with a few efforts of his own before he teed up Oli McBurnie’s rasping drive that struck the post.
On a frustrating night for United, Ndiaye showed once again why he is so highly-rated and as things stand, the Blades will do well to keep hold of the Senegal star beyond January. And speaking about his teammate on SUTV last night, O’Connell believes Ndiaye is going right to the top of the footballing pyramid.
‘By far (the best player on the pitch). I thought he looked levels above. And to be fair I thought Oli McBurnie played class as well. But Ili, he’s just class and he’s going right to the top,” O’Connell commented.

“Anything good that happened today came through Ili. Like I say, he was by far the best player on the pitch today.”
Ndiaye is United’s top scorer this season with six goals, one in front of his partner McBurnie. He is currently pushing for a spot in the World Cup, where he’ll have the chance to showcase his talents on the world stage.

The Blades are lucky to have Iliman Ndiaye and it won’t be long before the Premier League vultures are circling.
If United were going to score last night, then it was going to come through Ndiaye. He was leading the line well, linking play, and was the only player in red and white who looked capable of beating his defender.
O’Connell says here that Ndiaye will be going right to the very top. The worry for United is that he might end up there sooner, rather than later.
