'I don't know what he's eating': Jack O'Connell delighted for Oli McBurnie this season

Sheffield United’s Jack O’Connell has said he is delighted for Oli McBurnie to be on the goal trail, after the striker scored again against Birmingham.

United ground out a hard-fought point against the Blues who were one of the better teams to come to Bramall Lane this season. Troy Deeney led the line up front well and a number of younger players buzzed around to cause problems for the Blades.

However, it was McBurnie who opened the scoring with a rasping drive. It made it four in five for the Scotland international and speaking on SUTV, Jack O’Connell admitted McBurnie is reaping the rewards of some hard work behind the scenes.

“I don’t know what he’s eating maybe I’ll have to have some of that. But no honestly, he’s been working so hard in the off season. But yeah, everything he touches at the minute turns to gold,” O’Connell commented.

“I think his personality rubs off on everyone he’s infectious. The players love him and the staff love him as well.”

Carl Asaba also sung McBurnie’s praises, saying that the striker is also a big help to the Blades defensively.

“He’s winning balls in our defensive area as well, he’s very important to the team. He’s a top player, he’s had injuries he’s had illness. His quality has never been in doubt.”

Our View: McBurnie Now Key For Sheffield United

What a turnaround for Oli McBurnie at Sheffield United. From a player who never looked like scoring again to a player who now looks like scoring every week.

McBurnie showed his class in the Premier League when United first went up so it was just a matter of time really. Now, the Blades fans are seeing the best of the Scotland striker and long may it continue.
