Sheffield United were unlucky not to beat Chelsea yesterday after putting in another spirited performance at Bramall Lane.

Some slack defending allowed Chelsea to score two goals which they probably didn’t deserve but overall, United once again showed a decent level of performance.

Goals from Jayden Bogle and then a late equaliser from Oli McBurnie ensured a point was shared and for United, it means they’ve now picked up three draws in their last four games.

Of course, this positive run of form has coincided with United and Wilder throwing young midfielder, Oliver Arblaster, into the middle of the park.

Yesterday, up against World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez and £110m man Moises Caicedo, Arblaster did not look out of place and starred once more.

And speaking about the youngster after the game, Chris Wilder was full of praise for the midfielder.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Wilder admitted that he’d taken a risk putting Arblaster in so early in his career but he’s happy to see it paying off.

Commenting on the youngster – quotes transcribed by The Bladesman – Wilder admitted he was so impressed by Arblaster.

“Blaster was incredible again and everybody else followed him. It’s fabulous [to watch him], he’s such a good lad, his play’s excellent, and he was the one who was nice and calm. That’s the reason we put him in, we chucked him in vs Bournemouth and it was right for him. Obviously it’s a gamble but he’s growing and growing and hopefully he’ll keep growing with us and be the player we all expect him to be,” Wilder said.

Arblaster recently signed a new contract with United and the Blades supporters are looking forward to seeing exactly what the youngster can do next.

Right now, he is on the right path to being a top midfielder and it’s looking like yet another brilliant gem of a player unearthed from United’s academy.
