Sheffield United are known for producing talented youngsters and Sky Sports believes two of the current squad are among the best in the Championship.

Over the years United have produced England internationals like Kyle Walker, Aaron Ramsdale, Phil Jagielka and Harry Maguire. A number of other players have enjoyed fine careers too after coming through the academy, with Michael Tonge, Jonathan Forte and Nick Montgomery among those to have good careers.

And according to Sky’s new ’25 under 25′ article which names the very best players under-25 in the division, United have another two who need watching closely.

Sheffield United Players Named In Sky’s 25 Under 25

There is a caveat with the two picks in that Tommy Doyle is selected. He is, of course, Manchester City’s player and will spend the season with the Blades as he looks to impress once again.

Alongside Doyle, Sky have selected Iliman Ndiaye in their list. The 22-year-old forward was magnificent at times last season and has got himself in on the act with Senegal as well to cap off a fine 12 months. Ndiaye will be hoping that with a year of first-team football now under his belt, that he can be the catalyst for Paul Heckingbottom’s side at the top of the pitch.

Doyle, meanwhile, will be looking to continue the form he showed with Cardiff. The City loanee could be forced to wait for his debut, though, after Heckingbottom confirmed he could miss the opening weeks of the season.

Our View: Ndiaye Can Be The Star Of The Championship

That’s how good Iliman Ndiaye is. He showed in flashes last year just how good he is and with Morgan Gibbs-White back at Wolves, there is a responsibility on his shoulders to fill that void.

However, he showed in the playoff second-leg against Forest just how brilliant he can be and on that night he probably could and should have scored on the night.

If he can add those goals to his game, keep on improving, and keep fit, then Sheffield United really do have one of the league’s best players in Ndiaye.
