Martin Odegaard has revealed how a chat with Sander Berge helped convince him to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal during January.
Odegaard, who is currently on loan with the Gunners, signed in January and has since gone on to impress with a number of fine performances for the North London outfit.
It remains to be seen whether Odegaard will remain at Arsenal come the summer. Indeed, that is a similar situation to which Berge finds himself, with the midfielder set to be one of the players United may lose.
But speaking to the Premier League’s YouTube channel this week, Odegaard has revealed how Berge, and Everton loanee Josh King, helped convince him of a move to England.
“Yeah, I spoke to both of them,” Odegaard said.
“They had only good things to say about the league and everything here from the football. They told me a lot of good things.”
Odegaard is currently away with Norway with Berge and was in fact pictured with the Blades star, alongisde Erling Haaland, over the weekend.
United fans, meanwhile, will be hoping Berge stays loyal to the Blades cause over the summer, although most are accepting that a massive bid will see him leave.
The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Spurs are all said to be keen. If the Gunners are interested, then Odegaard could end up returning the favour to Berge in terms of advice in the coming months.
