There are plenty of potential deals concerning Sheffield United set to take place on deadline day.

The January window shuts at 11pm tonight and there is expected to be at least one transfer involving the Blades.

United are set to finally confirm the signing of Scott Hogan, reports the Sheffield Star. The paperwork for the Aston Villa striker should be received by the EFL before the 11pm deadline.

Bristol City had also made an enquiry about signing Hogan. Yet the 26-year-old made it clear Bramall Lane was his preferred destination.

The Robins are now looking elsewhere, leaving Chris Wilder free to sign the forward. Wilder has been tracking Hogan for some time and almost secured him in the summer.

The Republic of Ireland international will join on loan until May – at which point a decision will be made on his Villa future.

Along with Kieran Dowell and Gary Madine, Wilder will have brought in the three new players he was looking for this month.

It was confirmed yesterday that Leon Clarke had left the Blades for Wigan Athletic. Clarke, who top scored with 19 Championship goals last season, is on loan at the DW Stadium until the end of 2018/19.

The 33-year-old’s departure is what has allowed Hogan to be signed as a replacement.

However, the outgoings may not end there. The Sheffield Star reported that United have already rejected a £4m bid from West Ham United for John Fleck.

Now it remains to be seen whether the Hammers return with an improved offer.

Finally, rumours are abound that Ched Evans could be leaving the Blades permanently. BBC Sheffield Sport Editor, Andy Giddings, says that Sunderland have asked for Evans to be recalled from his loan at Fleetwood Town so they can sign him permanently.
