Sheffield United lost to Wolves at the weekend but former defender Phil Jagielka picked out a shining light for the Blades.
In the end, a goal from Pablo Sarabia was enough to see Wolves home. United, though, did have some good chances and on another day would have come away with a point or even more.
However, it wasn’t to be as Rhian Brewster and James McAtee both fluffed their lines when presented with decent openings.
But speaking on Sky Sports about McAtee before the game, former Blade Jagielka was full of praise for the young midfielder and believes he is the key for United going forward.
“He’s the one who’s been unlocking the doors. Whether it be assists or goals, he’s obviously got a lot of quality and Manchester City think very highly of him. He’s only come on loan but he came last season so he knows the club well enough now. There’s a lot of emphasis on him to score and create chances and hopefully he’ll deliver for Sheffield United,” Jagielka said.

James McAtee has been great at Sheffield United
United fans have had good luck with loan players in recent times.
Dean Henderson was a firm favourite of the fans while Morgan Gibbs-White was an absolute star when he was at Bramall Lane a few seasons back.
Since then, McAtee and another former City youngster, Tommy Doyle, have also shone at The Lane.
This season has been a miserable in the main but Jagielka is right here in that McAtee is indeed a player who United can look at for inspiration.
There’s no chance of United landing McAtee unless there’s a miracle survival attempt and an injection of money into the club.
For now, it’s just a case of enjoying him and hoping that he can provide a few more big moments between now and the end of the end of the season.
