Sheffield United duo Jack O’Connell and Dean Henderson have been selected in a Team of the Season compiled by Sky Sports.
With the Premier League season on hold for the foreseeable future, items such as teams and players of the season have been discussion points for a number of football fans.

Usually, with these sorts of teams, they are dominated by two or three clubs. And while this is the case again this year with Liverpool, Man City, and Leicester taking up most spots, Sheffield United have also gatecrashed the party with two entries.
Defender O’Connell has been an ever-present for United and has largely gone under the radar. However, he’s once again been integral for the Blades. His knowledge and ability to play the ‘overlapping centre-back’ role Chris Wilder deploys him in is crucial.

Henderson, meanwhile, has seen his stock rise throughout the season. Despite a howler against Liverpool at home, the Man United loanee has kept ten clean-sheets. This puts him behind on Alisson and Nick Pope in terms of shut-outs.

The selections are a testament to the season United have had. The club remains on course for Europe when and if the season resumes. If they do indeed qualify, both Henderson and O’Connell will have played key roles.
Deserved selections for both O’Connell and Henderson in Team of the Season
A number of Blades players could say they deserve to be in here but Henderson and O’Connell have, arguably, been standout performers.
The way they’ve both adapted to Premier League life has been excellent. Both players were on the cusp of England calls before the suspension of the season.
With the Euros now pushed back until 2021, the pair will surely fancy their chances of getting into the squad. For now, though, this is a nice nod to two players who have already cemented themselves as legends at Bramall Lane.
