Sheffield United are being linked with a move for Burnley midfielder Jack Cork and Sean Dyche has been full of praise for him in the past.
The Mirror claims that Corks is a target for Chris Wilder. Along with Newcastle and Brighton, it is believed the Blades will make a move for the experienced midfielder.
Cork, 31, has over 250 Premier League appearances to his name. That in itself is enticing for United. However, if you look at previous comments from Sean Dyche, it would seem Cork fits in with the ethos of clubs like United and Burnley.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph back in 2018, Dyche praised Cork’s attitude.

“He gets the people, he gets the fans and he gets the feel of the club. The big thing with Corky is his understanding of the Premier League,” Dyche said.
“I looked at him and thought, ‘Well if they don’t want him I certainly think he’s a very, very good player’. Corky wasn’t form related. I’ve always thought he was a very good player down many, many years.”
High praise like that from Dyche will be music to the ears of Wilder, Alan Knill, and Sheffield United fans.
Especially at a time when John Lundstram is seemingly messing the club about, it’s great to read of a player who simply gets what is going on and cracks on with his job in the team.
Perfect signing? Not far off
Sometimes an experienced head is needed. You can’t always look to bring in young players and hope they’ll kick on and have immediate success.
Jack Cork is a brilliant Premier League player and Dyche’s comments on him bring his character to the fore. Those traits are exactly what a lot of Blades fans – and Wilder – love.
Burnley and United aren’t too different. The fact Cork took to life at Turf Moor like he did and has been so successful, suggests he could be ideal at Bramall Lane.
