Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye is edging towards staying with the Blades and rejecting the advances of Marseille.
The Senegal forward appeared to be all but off last week as French reports consistently suggested a deal had been struck between Ndiaye and Marseille. Of course, all along, United hadn’t accepted any bids.
And now, RMC Sport are claiming that Ndiaye is now set to remain in Sheffield, with United pressing on with convincing him to stay put.
RMC reports that Ndiaye’s family are pushing the United star to remain in Sheffield and provide stability in family life.

Further, United are also said to be offering a much improved new contract which will see Ndiaye become one of the club’s top earners, as well as promises around him being the star man at the club.

Should Ndiaye stay put, it would be the signing of the window for Paul Heckingbottom. Among all the links to new players and the obvious need to strengthen, getting Ndiaye to sign a new deal is an absolute priority.
Ndiaye, like Sander Berge, sees his contract expire next summer and with no guaranteed extension, it’s left United in a tricky situation.
Sheffield United News View: How quickly things can change
We report from a lot of different sources on this website but one thing we know is that things are never set in stone.
Yes, the likes of Fabrizio Romano picked up on this one and when he gets something, it usually means it has legs.
But right now, it does seem like the Ndiaye situation is edging in United’s favour. And thank god it is.
Iliman Ndiaye is essential for this team. If he signs a new contract and goes into the new season knowing the club see him as the face of Bramall Lane, then it’s a huge pat on the back.
Make no mistake, if Heckingbottom and Bettis can get this one over the line, then it’s the signing of the summer for United.
