Of course, everyone in football wished Brooks the best at the time and it seems the former Blade has come through things fighting. Brooks, taking to his Twitter account a short time ago, has confirmed that he has now completed his treatment and, in what is brilliant news, has been declared cancer free.

In his message, Brooks confirmed he is looking forward to getting back to full fitness and continuing his career with the Cherries, who face a massive clash with Nottingham Forest tonight.

David Brooks News Puts Everything Else In Football Into Perspective

It did so at the time for all the wrong reasons, and it has done so now for the right reasons. Brooks’ news on his recovery and now fight back to being a footballer at Bournemouth really does put things into perspective.

Yes, there are battles going on on the pitch in the Championship. None more so than the huge clash with Forest tonight which could make or break Bournemouth’s promotion hopes.

But at the end of the day, this is a young man fighting for more than promotion. And it’s great to see he has overcome things in the best way possible.

Hopefully, Brooks can now put this behind him and continue his career in the best way possible. We all know the talent he possesses and to see him back on a pitch soon will warm the heart.

Everyone at Sheffield United News is delighted with the news from David Brooks today. We wish him all the best, a continued speedy recovery, and look forward to seeing him back in action in the future.

Once a Blade. Always a Blade.
