'I don't like disruptions': Dozy Mmobuosi speaks on Sheffield United and if he'd change manager quickly

Prospective new Sheffield United owner Dozy Mmobuosi has been speaking to Rio Ferdinand this evening about his plans for the club.

Mmobuosi has gone on Ferdinand’s Five YouTube show to speak all things Blades. Amid reports in the press pouring scorn on some of his past and his businesses, the Nigerian has decided to address some issues.

Of course, there’s lots to digest. But key to Sheffield United fans is what Mmobuosi plans on doing with the club immediately.

And answering Ferdinand’s question on that subject – including whether he’d look at a quick change in manager – the Tingo CEO gave a solid and well-rounded answer.

“I’m a very pragmatic person. I don’t like disruptions that are not good. And if it’s not in the best interest of the club and the people of Sheffield, I’m not going to do it. I don’t think it’s in the best interest of the city for radical changes to be made,” Mmobuosi said.

“But what we must do, as the club is a business, what we must do is make sure we bring in the best to add value to the club. You don’t just go to the PL and return to where you’re coming from. We must put everything in place to ensure we sustain our position.”

There is so much in this interview to take in. But overall, Dozy Mmobuosi comes across brilliantly in this interview.

He seems clear in that he’s experienced in business. Clear in his intentions to get involved with the club and clear the he sees working with the people of Sheffield.

Ultimately, there were some nice snippets of information to take from this interview. It remains to be seen if the takeover will be fully ratified by the EFL.

But if it is, based on this 30 minutes or so, then Blades fans can be quite excited.
