The Manchester United loanee has been in outstanding form for the Blades this season. He’s kept five clean-sheets and helped United to the second best defence in the league.
With England’s qualification for Euro 2020 secure, Henderson was expected to get the nod today in Kosovo.
However, according to Sky Sports, Henderson will miss out. Gareth Southgate looks set to go with Nick Pope in the sticks. Jordan Pickford is set to be rested after being the regular number one throughout qualifying.

It’s likely that Henderson will get a place on the bench. However, the news of Pope getting in ahead of him will be a blow to the Blades star.
A minor set-back
If Southgate does go with Pope, then it won’t be too much of a worry for Henderson. He’s got plenty of time on his side to convince the England manager.
Henderson will be fully focussed on Sheffield United. Going away with England is, of course, a dream for players in this country. But Henderson knows his time will come if he keeps playing as he is for the Blades.

For Blades fans, it will be a relief too. The last thing they want is an injury to one of their key players heading into the busy winter months. Although Henderson is set to miss the game with Manchester United, he will come straight back into the fold.
A phenomenal rise
It’s only a few seasons back that Henderson was playing in League One with Shrewsbury. The fact he has continued his excellent form across a number of seasons at different levels, is a testament to his ability.
Yes, he’s made the odd mistake, which his manager has challenged him to improve on.
