Manchester United have left Dean Henderson out of their pre-season tour of Australia ahead of his expected move to Sheffield United, reports The Sun.
The Red Devils confirmed that Henderson has not flown with the squad. Instead David de Gea has been joined by senior goalkeepers Lee Grant and Sergio Romero, as well as Under-23s stopper Joel Pereira.
It now seems only a matter of time before the Blades confirm Henderson has rejoined the club on loan. This is after the 22-year-old played every minute of last term’s Championship campaign. They finished second in the table and earned promotion to the Premier League.
Not only that, but Henderson kept more clean sheets than any other ‘keeper in the division. Chris Wilder’s side also had the joint best defensive record.
Wilder has already confirmed that a deal for the England Under-21 international is very close.
“Dean made it clear to us that he has a very strong interest in coming back to Bramall Lane, and Manchester United are happy to go along with that,” the 51-year-old told the Mirror.

“He wants his United contract sorted out first of all but, in terms of putting another temporary deal in place, I think we’re in a good place with that one.”

Dean Henderson to become latest Blades signing
The South Yorkshire club are now in the Algarve after flying out to Portugal for warm weather training. They were joined on the plane by new signings Luke Freeman and Phil Jagielka.
Free agent Ravel Morrison is also with the squad as he continues a trial period. Meanwhile, Wilder is also looking at adding some new strikers to his ranks.
The Sheffield Star reports that along with Henderson, Swansea City’s Oli McBurnie and Neal Maupay of Brentford are priority signings.
