West Ham United manager, David Moyes, has confirmed that he will have Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard available on Monday.
Lingard made an explosive start to the his like with the Hammers, scoring two goals on his debut a few weeks back.
However, he has since missed out on selection, prompting fears he may have picked up a knock early into his West Ham spell. But Moyes, speaking ahead of the clash with the Blades on Monday, has confirmed Lingard will indeed be available.
“We didn’t have a great team performance against Fulham which he was involved in. But he has had a little bit of rest and a chance to recover because he hasn’t had many minutes as far as starting games go so he has a little bit of room to get a week’s recovery between games,” Moyes said. “We’ll have Jesse back in and around the squad which will give us a boost.”
Wilder wanted Lingard, he’ll be hoping he has a nightmare on Monday
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder will be hoping for an off-day from Lingard for more than one reason.
Of course, he wants to beat West Ham. But it is well documented that Lingard was one of Wilder’s – if not the – top target in January. A goal or brilliant performance from Lingard would be a bit of a kick on old proverbials for the Blades boss.
The Blades boss will once again do his utmost to ensure a result for his team, in what is a tricky looking clash against an in-form Hammers side.
