Blades boss, Chris Wilder, has confirmed the club are close to completing another transfer.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Millwall in the FA Cup, the Blades boss admitted the club are closing in on another addition.
However, Wilder insisted that nothing will be done before the weekend. The club have already signed Jack Robinson and Jack Rodwell during this window.
“Yeah we’re close to a second, It’s my wedding anniversary on deadline day so hopefully we’ll have it done before then.

The Blades boss usually keeps his cards close to his chest. The fact he has said the club are close to making another addition suggests that things are more or less sorted.
After leading the club to seventh in the Premier League table, Wilder has insisted the club needs to carry on progressing. He’s made no secret of his desire to bring in a number of new faces, while he also hopes to see a couple of players leave.
Who could the new Blades signing be?
A number of names have been linked with the club in the last few weeks.
However, the most likely of all the names to be linked to actually move to Bramall Lane would be Tyrese Campbell or Josh Brownhill.
Both fit the mould of player Wilder has signed previously and neither player will break the bank. Campbell, who is out of contract in the summer, has impressed for Stoke of late.
Brownhill, meanwhile, has skippered Bristol City this season and has five goals to his name. It is believed Brownhill has a £7m release clause due to come into effect in the summer.
Should the Blades trigger that sort of fee now, one would assume that would be the budget spent for January.
Things are ticking along quite nicely for the Blades at the moment. United fans, then, will wait patiently until next week to see just who the club has struck a deal with.
