Former Sheffield United striker and now pundit, Carl Asaba, has been singing the praises of Blades defender Jack Robinson this weekend.
Robinson once again played a crucial role in helping the Blades to another big three points. His bullet header in front of the Kop put United 2-1 up and from there, the Blades never looked back.
Of course, at the start of the season, Robinson wasn’t even playing. Rhys Norrington-Davies was playing and Ciaran Clark had been signed to seemingly replace the former Nottingham Forest man.
But Robinson has played a huge part and scored some big goals this season. And speaking on SUTV, Asaba could speak highly enough of Robinson’s efforts.
Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
“He’s been a big part of our season. You know, some of the moments in matches. He has big moments which normally give a positive swing to the team. He’s been huge and that there, a great goal to score in front of the Kop. Massive,” Asaba said.
Robinson was part of the mistake against Burnley in midweek which saw Wes Foderingham sent off. But he bounced back perfectly v Cardiff, showing his worth in both boxes.
Sheffield United News View: Robinson has proven so many wrong
There was a time when a lot of Sheffield United fans simply saw Jack Robinson as nothing more than a squad player.
He was signed relatively cheaply by Chris Wilder and has often come into the team as a stop gap.
But now as a regular starter, he is excelling. Robinson has been one of United’s best and most consistent players and while his long throw is a huge asset, he’s proven himself more than capable in this back three.
The left-footer has probably done enough to earn himself a new deal regardless of the division United find themselves in.
