Sheffield United go to Wolves this weekend as they look to arrest the slump and bounce back from the hammering against Brighton.
Despite beating Luton at Kenilworth Road the week before, the Blades crumbled at Bramall Lane as Mason Holgate’s shocking red card ruined the day.
Chris Wilder goes into this weekend with a number of selection issues again. Injuries are a problem, while there’s also the balancing act of potentially dropping a few players from last week’s meltdown.
Of course, one of the problems right now for Sheffield United is how the media and other supporters perceive us. Results have been pretty embarrassing, and it feels like the Blades are effectively going out to simply try and not be beaten by big numbers.

And doing his predictions for the BBC, pundit Chris Sutton has followed the narrative, suggesting it could be matter of just how many goals Wolves get at Molineux.
“Wolves will win – the only question is: by how many? Sheffield United are down as far as I am concerned, they have had it. They beat Wolves at Bramall Lane at the start of November but that doesn’t matter – apart from their win at Luton earlier this month, it has felt like the Blades are getting smashed every week,” Sutton said.
Sheffield United have to show some pride at Wolves
We’ve seen the Blades can do it. We beat Luton away which has been tough for everyone this season and came within a whisker of taking all three points at Villa Park. Likewise, we’ve beaten Wolves this season already and so there should be some hope.
The main thing, though, is for United to come out fighting here and show that they’re not going to take things just lying down.
If the Blades do lose this weekend, then so be it. But if we can show a bit of pride in the performance and not roll over like we have so many times, then that’s something fans will at least get behind.
